Karawang — The Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) of Karawang Regency, in collaboration with the Karawang Regency Government, has constructed six livable housing units for residents of Kampung Crewet, Medan Karya Village, Tirtajaya District, Karawang Regency, West Java. The program was funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds and implemented on Thursday (January 15, 2026).
The handover ceremony for the livable housing assistance was attended by Karawang Regent H. Aep Syaepuloh, Chairman of the Karawang Branch Board (DPC) of APINDO H. Abdul Syukur, S.H., M.H., Commander of Military District 0604 Karawang Lt. Col. Inf. Naryanto, S.Kom., M.Han., Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah, S.H., S.I.K., M.K.P., M.Si., along with several other officials and related stakeholders.
Chairman of DPC APINDO Karawang H. Abdul Syukur stated that the construction of the livable housing units reflects APINDO’s concern for underprivileged communities who are still living in inadequate housing conditions.
“This is one tangible example of APINDO’s concern for the community. We strive to understand and help residents who have long been living in houses that are not fit for habitation,” he said.
He explained that the six housing units would be transformed into proper, healthy, and comfortable homes. APINDO also plans to add one more housing unit at the same location.
“The main objective of this program is to ensure that houses which were previously uninhabitable, such as those with dirt floors, can become healthier and more comfortable places to live,” he added.
In its implementation, APINDO partnered with a vendor to directly construct the houses on site. The development was carried out comprehensively until the houses were fully ready for occupancy, as seen in Kampung Crewet, Medan Karya Village.
“Through this program, we want to demonstrate that the business community also has a strong sense of social responsibility. Our hope is that, in the future, community welfare will continue to improve and that there will be no more uninhabitable houses in Karawang,” he concluded.
