APINDO Papua Elects Moses Morin as Chairman for the 2025–2030 Term at 2025 Provincial Congress

Jayapura, 20 November 2025 — The 2025 Provincial Congress (Musprov) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Papua officially took place in Jayapura on Thursday (20/11/2025). The congress marked a significant moment for determining APINDO Papua’s strategic direction and electing its definitive leadership for the 2025–2030 period.

The Musprov was attended by six Regional Boards (DPK) across Papua Province—Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Biak Numfor Regency, Supiori Regency, Yapen Islands Regency, and Keerom Regency—demonstrating strong support for strengthening business consolidation in the region.

Anthony Hilman, Head of Organizational Affairs of APINDO National Executive Board (DPN), stated that the national business landscape is currently facing multiple pressures, including suboptimal business certainty, high logistics costs, and weakening purchasing power.

“In Papua, these challenges are even more pronounced, with the open unemployment rate reaching 6.96% in 2025. Yet Papua holds tremendous economic potential—from marine resources and agriculture to tourism and the green economy,” he explained.

He emphasized the need for strong synergy between the government and the business sector to expand employment opportunities and ensure inclusive economic growth. DPN APINDO remains committed to supporting APINDO Papua in strengthening the regional business environment.

Papua’s Deputy Governor, Aryoko Alberto Ferdinand Rumaropen, underscored the importance of the Musprov as a platform for business consolidation that plays a key role in advancing Papua’s economic development.

“The Papua Provincial Government is committed to delivering policies that support the business sector through collaborative and inclusive approaches,” he asserted.

The Deputy Governor further expressed his hope that the congress would produce a strong leadership lineup capable of responding to regional economic challenges.

“Through this Musprov, I hope APINDO Papua will give rise to a solid leadership team, innovative work programs, and a shared commitment to driving Papua’s economic progress. The provincial government stands ready to support, facilitate, and open wide avenues for collaboration for the benefit of all,” he added.

Boni Mofu, Chair of the Organizing Committee, opened the congress by emphasizing that this year’s Musprov was aligned with the vision and mission of the Governor and Deputy Governor to ensure APINDO’s work remains in harmony with regional development agendas.

“Musprov is not merely an administrative event, but a strategic forum to strengthen the association’s unity. I call on all participants to engage responsibly so that the congress produces the best decisions for the business community,” he stated.

APINDO Papua Chairman Moses A. Morin expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Governor and all attending DPK representatives. He reiterated APINDO Papua’s commitment to maintaining a constructive partnership with the government and contributing to Papua’s economic development.

“APINDO Papua is ready to work hand in hand with the government to accelerate the region’s economic growth,” Moses said.

Following the opening ceremony, delegates proceeded to plenary sessions to discuss work programs, commissions, and leadership selection. Through a consensus-based process, participants unanimously elected Moses Morin as Chairman of APINDO Papua for the 2025–2030 term.

The congress concluded with an organizational briefing by DPN APINDO and the inauguration of appointed DPK boards—marking the start of a new leadership era for APINDO Papua in strengthening the business community and supporting accelerated regional economic development.
