Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia West Java Strengthens Synergy with Journalists to Foster a Conducive Business Climate

BANDUNG – The West Java Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) emphasized the important role of the media in maintaining a conducive business climate.
The statement was delivered by West Java APINDO Chairwoman Ning Wahyu Astutik during the Journalists and APINDO West Java Gathering held at El Royal Hotel, Jalan Merdeka, Bandung, on Wednesday (February 18, 2025).
According to Ning, a stable business environment is influenced by several factors, including legal certainty, security stability, and a calm and rational social climate.
“In this context, the media plays a major role in shaping public perception regarding business issues, such as labor relations, wages, investment, layoffs, and industrial restructuring,” Ning Wahyu said.
She added that the media serves a crucial function in delivering accurate and balanced economic information while also educating the public about the realities of the business and labor sectors.
“Balanced, accurate, and constructive reporting can help create a conducive business climate and, directly or indirectly, contribute to social and economic stability,” she explained.
Ning emphasized that APINDO West Java’s consistent engagement with the media goes beyond informal gatherings. Instead, it serves as a platform for building trust, communication, and mutual understanding between both parties.
Journalistic reporting, she noted, should be based on contextual depth rather than sensationalism. For that reason, APINDO West Java remains committed to openness with the media as a dialogue partner and credible source of information, ready to provide data, clarification, and business perspectives transparently.
“Dialogue should be opened before conclusions are formed, because in reality, businesses and workers need each other and should not always be positioned as opposing sides. Collaboration between the business community and journalists will be key to economic growth, job creation, and public welfare,” she stressed.
Consistent Commitment to Media Collaboration
Meanwhile, journalist Arif Budianto acknowledged that media organizations today face increasingly complex challenges amid rapid information flows and digital transformation.
“We highly appreciate APINDO West Java under the leadership of Mrs. Ning Wahyu Astutik, which has consistently maintained strong relations, collaboration, and synergy with journalists in West Java,” he said.
Another journalist, Reni, echoed similar concerns, noting that the media industry is currently facing difficult circumstances. She emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between media institutions and the business sector.
“From the media side, innovation and diversification are necessary to survive. At the same time, support from various stakeholders, including the business community, is equally important. With good collaboration and synergy, we are optimistic we can overcome the challenges ahead,” she explained.
