APINDO Riau Holds 5th Provincial Conference, Nila Riana Becomes the First Woman to Lead DPP APINDO Riau for the 2025–2030 Term

Pekanbaru – The Provincial Leadership Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Riau officially held its 5th Provincial Conference (Musprov V) 2025 at Grand Suka Hotel, Pekanbaru, under the theme “The Strategic Role of APINDO in Enhancing Riau’s Economy: Preserving Prosperity and Upholding Dignity Toward Indonesia Emas 2045.”

The conference marked an important momentum for the business community in strengthening its contribution to economic growth and improving labor welfare in Riau Province.

In his remarks, Anthony Hilman, Head of Organizational Affairs of the APINDO National Leadership Board (DPN), expressed appreciation to the DPP APINDO Riau Management for the 2020–2025 term. He emphasized that labor challenges, both at the national and regional levels, must be addressed through policies that provide greater space for businesses to grow.

Each year, Indonesia needs to create jobs for 7 to 9 million existing unemployed people and 2 to 4 million new labor force entrants, while current employment absorption has yet to reach ideal levels. In Riau, the open unemployment rate remains at 4.12 percent, with more than 52 percent of the workforce employed in the informal sector, lacking adequate social protection and welfare guarantees.

“These conditions make APINDO’s role increasingly crucial in ensuring more decent and equitable employment opportunities, especially for the younger generation who represent the future of development,” he stated on November 29, 2025.

Outgoing Chairman of DPP APINDO Riau, Wijatmoko Rah Trisno, expressed hope that APINDO would continue its commitment to contributing to regional economic development.

“For us, preserving prosperity means safeguarding Riau’s vast potential as one of APINDO’s best-performing provincial chapters, while upholding dignity means ensuring that the business sector remains resilient, performs well, and delivers tangible benefits to society,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of Riau Province, Drs. H. Helmi D, M.Pd, also conveyed appreciation for APINDO’s role under Wijatmoko Rah Trisno’s leadership. He noted that the provincial government is currently pushing for sustainable economic transformation.

“Riau no longer relies solely on oil and gas. We are promoting tourism, MSMEs, and the creative industry as new engines of inclusive economic growth capable of absorbing more labor,” he said.

He reaffirmed the full support of the Riau Provincial Government, stating, “We are ready to synergize with APINDO to strengthen the business climate, open up investment opportunities, and improve public welfare toward Indonesia Emas 2045.”

Through a series of plenary sessions and a democratic deliberation process, Nila Riana was unanimously elected as Chairwoman of DPP APINDO Riau for the 2025–2030 term. Wijatmoko Rah Trisno was appointed as Chairman of the Advisory Board.

Nila Riana’s election marks a new chapter in APINDO Riau’s leadership, symbolizing renewed spirit and commitment to continuing synergy and accelerating regional economic growth.

The event was attended by representatives from government and the business community, including the Commander of Korem 031/Wira Bima, the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Riau Province, the Commander of Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base, Chairman of KADIN Riau Masuri, S.H., APINDO Extraordinary Members, as well as all Chairpersons and Management Boards of APINDO Regency/City Chapters across Riau.
