Looking Ahead to Kutai Barat’s Economic Future, APINDO Strengthens Synergy with Local Government

SENDAWAR – The presence of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) at the regional level plays a crucial role as a catalyst for local economic growth.

This commitment was reflected in the inaugural Working Meeting of the Kutai Barat Regency Executive Board (DPK APINDO Kutai Barat), held at Joglo Hotel Sidodadi in Simpang Raya, Barong Tongkok, on Saturday (August 15, 2026).

As an official organization that serves as a bridge between businesses and companies and the government on economic affairs, public policy, and industrial relations, the meeting marked a strategic new chapter for the investment climate in Bumi Tana Purai Ngeriman, the traditional designation for Kutai Barat.

Under the leadership of APINDO Kutai Barat Chairman Hermanto Cigot, the inaugural working meeting served not only as an opportunity to introduce and consolidate the newly established leadership but also as a platform to map out the organization’s long-term vision.

“We hope that the momentum of the inauguration of the new leadership, scheduled for September, will be accompanied by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kutai Barat Regency Government,” Hermanto said.

The commitment was echoed by APINDO Kutai Barat Secretary Ismail Marzuki, who outlined the organizational leadership structure based on a decree issued by the National Executive Board (DPN) of APINDO. He also emphasized the organization’s commitment to maintaining a conducive business climate in Kutai Barat.

Strong synergy between the private sector and local government, he said, is key to achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development.

“With the APINDO Kutai Barat leadership now officially beginning its work, various challenges related to regulations, industrial relations, and the development of local potential are expected to be addressed through constructive and collaborative dialogue,” Ismail said.

Going forward, APINDO Kutai Barat’s initiative deserves appreciation as a concrete demonstration of the business community’s commitment to advancing regional development. Stronger collaboration is expected to accelerate economic activity and contribute to improving the overall welfare of the people of Kutai Barat.

The inaugural working meeting also resulted in the formation of an organizing committee for the upcoming leadership inauguration, chaired by Arkadius Elly.
