DOGIYAI, Papua – The Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) of Dogiyai Regency has expressed its appreciation for Dogiyai Regent Yudas Tebai, S.Pd., M.Si., for his commitment to securing the payment of outstanding entitlements owed to honorary workers within the Dogiyai Regency Government.

The move is seen as a form of leadership that prioritizes workers’ welfare and deserves support from all elements of the community.

Chairman of APINDO Dogiyai Melkianus Tebai, S.Ak., said resolving the outstanding rights of honorary workers should serve as an initial step toward establishing a more structured and sustainable employment system capable of addressing the community’s future needs.

According to him, the regional government should not focus solely on resolving issues concerning honorary workers, but should also begin preparing strategic policies to create new employment opportunities for Dogiyai’s younger generation.

APINDO Dogiyai has called on relevant regional government agencies, including the Manpower Office, the Cooperatives and SMEs Office, the Industry and Trade Office, and other related agencies, to prioritize programs aimed at creating employment opportunities for young people, job seekers, senior high school and vocational school graduates, as well as university graduates.

Melkianus said such programs should be developed based on a mapping of the competencies and potential of Dogiyai’s indigenous human resources. This would enable graduates to be directed toward employment and business opportunities that match their skills and capabilities.

As part of efforts to strengthen community economic empowerment, APINDO Dogiyai has proposed the development of various productive business sectors, including photocopying and digital services, vehicle washing services, motorcycle and automotive repair shops, billboard and banner printing, T-shirt and jersey printing and embroidery, tailoring, coffee shops, internet cafés, barbershops, cooperatives, as well as entrepreneurship training supported by access to financing for new MSME entrepreneurs, Melkianus said.

APINDO Dogiyai believes that the success of regional development should not be measured solely by the resolution of government administrative issues, but also by the government’s ability to create employment opportunities, foster new entrepreneurs, and build greater economic self-reliance within the community.

As an organization representing the business and employment sectors, APINDO Dogiyai has declared its readiness to serve as a strategic partner of the Dogiyai Regency Government in formulating policies, supporting businesspeople, and developing workforce empowerment programs that deliver tangible benefits to community welfare.

In addition, APINDO Dogiyai, together with academics from Cenderawasih University (UNCEN) and industry practitioners, is committed to developing collaborative initiatives to create employment opportunities through competency-based training, business development and mentoring for MSMEs.

The program is expected to produce a more competitive workforce, foster resilient new entrepreneurs, and strengthen the economy of Dogiyai Regency on a sustainable basis.
