Apindo DIY Urges Manpower Ministry to Fix Error in National Apprenticeship System

Apindo DIY Urges Manpower Ministry to Fix Error in National Apprenticeship System

Yogyakarta – The Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) Yogyakarta has called on the Ministry of Manpower to immediately repair the national apprenticeship program system, which has recently experienced technical errors.

The system reportedly suffered from glitches, lacked a functional help desk, and had no available support staff, causing several companies in Yogyakarta to fail in participating in the national apprenticeship program.

Timotius Apriyanto, Vice Chairman of Apindo Yogyakarta for Employment Affairs, said that many companies in the region were unable to become organizers of the national apprenticeship program due to these technical issues.

“Through the apprenticeship hub website, companies tried to register as apprenticeship providers. However, when followed up, the system kept showing errors. We tried several times, but the technical problems persisted. As a result, many companies couldn’t participate,” he said on Monday (October 13, 2025).

According to him, at least 20 companies in Yogyakarta had registered through the apprenticeship hub but failed due to the system malfunction.

As a result, many companies were left disappointed, even though the interest among Yogyakarta’s businesses to participate in the national apprenticeship program was quite high.

He urged the government to improve the system and conduct thorough testing down to the operational level.

“There’s a good policy, but poor technical implementation. The system needs to be fixed and checked operationally. This situation is disappointing,” he stated.

In general, Apindo Yogyakarta supports the national apprenticeship program, as it is designed to help fresh graduates gain work experience and improve their purchasing power.

During the six-month apprenticeship period, participants are also entitled to receive wages in accordance with the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP).

“However, there are still technical problems. We hope these issues can be resolved soon,” Timotius concluded.
