The organization advocates for employers’ interests, particularly in labor and industrial relations, including dispute resolution and labor policy formulation.
APINDO also functions as a platform for dialogue between employers, the government, and other stakeholders, particularly in discussions surrounding minimum wage formulas and employment regulations.
In addition to advocacy, APINDO provides legal assistance, consultation, and guidance to its members on labor-related issues.
The organization was originally established as the Badan Permusyawaratan Urusan Sosial-Ekonomi Pengusaha Indonesia (PUSPI) and underwent several transformations before officially becoming APINDO in 1985.
