Surabaya – Amid ongoing global economic headwinds, the East Java chapter of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) has taken proactive measures to ensure the region’s economic engine continues to run at full speed. During a strategic audience at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda Jatim) on Thursday (February 5, 2026), APINDO East Java and the East Java Police Chief agreed on a joint commitment to safeguard a conducive business environment while accelerating international market expansion.
Chairman of APINDO East Java, Eddy Widjanarko, emphasized that the immediate priority is to ensure industrial sustainability without resorting to mass layoffs.
“We are committed to maintaining a conducive environment so industries can survive and the investment climate in East Java remains stable. Industrial harmony is key to ensuring that the wheels of the economy continue to turn,” Eddy stated.
Beyond maintaining stability, APINDO East Java is also setting its sights on global opportunities. The anticipated implementation of the Indonesia–European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU–CEPA) was highlighted as a strategic gateway for East Java’s leading products to penetrate the competitive European market.
“This represents a strategic opportunity to enhance the global competitiveness of our national products,” Eddy added before senior officials of the East Java Police.
East Java Police Chief Nanang Avianto welcomed the initiative, underscoring that the police force serves not only as a security guardian but also as a strategic partner in economic development.
The East Java Police have established a Special Manpower Desk to facilitate communication and mediation in the event of industrial relations disputes.
“We are committed to ensuring that industrial and investment activities proceed safely and smoothly. Communication channels remain open so that any on-the-ground issues can be properly facilitated,” the Police Chief affirmed.
The strengthened collaboration underscores the vital role of synergy between the business community and law enforcement authorities in maintaining economic resilience and reinforcing East Java’s position as a competitive investment destination.
