Palu – The Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers' Association (APINDO) of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) held a dialogue with several media organizations and chief editors in the city of Palu.
The event took place at the Milenium Waterpark Hall on Tuesday (May 20, 2025).
The audience was led by the Chairman of APINDO Central Sulawesi, Wijaya Chandra, accompanied by other board members including Decky Danadi Chandra, Handri (Fisheries Division), Azhar (Plantation Division), Tirta (Agriculture Division), Amrin Tom, Murtalib, and Udin Salim.
In his opening remarks, Wijaya Chandra stated that the current APINDO Central Sulawesi board had only recently been inaugurated. As such, the organization is seeking input from various stakeholders—particularly the media—regarding economic potentials within the region.
“We need insights from all sectors, especially from our media colleagues who hold valuable information that we can leverage for collaborative efforts,” said Wijaya Chandra.
On that occasion, he also highlighted a number of economic sectors in the region that require support from stakeholders, especially local governments.
He cited examples of APINDO members who have already established international trade networks—such as the export of eel to Japan and other countries, as well as dehusked coconut exports.
“These kinds of trade partnerships are what we need to develop together—to expand our reach globally and attract more investors to Central Sulawesi,” he added.
Chandra emphasized that Central Sulawesi holds vast untapped potential, which requires collaborative action to unlock access and maximize opportunities.
During the dialogue, APINDO also gave the floor to a local MSME entrepreneur engaged in eel cultivation and processing, who shared their success story in exporting to several international markets.
Additionally, another APINDO member shared their experience exporting coconuts to the global market.
This meeting marked a strategic step for the Central Sulawesi APINDO board in strengthening synergy with various stakeholders—especially the media—in efforts to develop regional economic potential and enhance the global competitiveness of local products.
