APINDO Bandung City Highlights Importance of Data Accuracy in Economic Census

BANDUNG, West Java – Chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Bandung City, Ahmad Kosim Asmari, has emphasized the importance of integrity among officers assigned to conduct the 2026 Economic Census in Bandung.
According to Ahmad, the success of the census will depend heavily on the quality of work carried out by field officers. He made the statement while delivering remarks at a training session for 2026 Economic Census officers at Sari Ater Kamboti Hotel on Wednesday (June 3, 2026).
Ahmad expressed his appreciation for the training program but stressed the importance of honesty and integrity throughout the data collection process.
“As representatives of the business community, we fully understand that sound decisions can only be made on the basis of accurate data. Therefore, the success of the Economic Census depends heavily on the quality of work of the officers working on the front lines,” Ahmad said.
The Economic Census is a strategic and important undertaking for both the business community and government, as it provides an accurate picture of Indonesia’s economic conditions and business development.
“For business operators, the results of the Economic Census are a highly valuable source of data for understanding business dynamics, formulating appropriate policies, improving competitiveness, and serving as a foundation for designing various economic development programs in the future,” he said.
He therefore expressed hope that the 2026 Economic Census would deliver significant benefits to the advancement of the business sector and Indonesia’s economic development, particularly in Bandung.
Meanwhile, Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Bandung City, Nevi Handri, explained that the training for field data-collection officers was part of BPS’s efforts to strengthen their capacity and establish a common understanding of the mechanisms for implementing the census.
She expressed hope that the results of the census would provide substantial benefits for future economic growth.
Also attending the event were Faillah, S.Si., MM, Head of the General Affairs Subdivision; Vira Wahyuningrum, S.ST., M.Stat., Senior Expert Statistician and Chair of the 2026 Economic Census Organizing Committee; as well as representatives from the BPS West Java Provincial Office and Statistics Indonesia (BPS) headquarters.
