Roberth Tanamal Re-elected as Chairman of DPP APINDO Maluku

Ambon, December 18, 2025 — The Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers Association (DPP APINDO) of Maluku held its 5th Provincial Conference (Musprov V) as a forum for organizational consolidation and for strengthening the role of the business community in supporting regional economic development. The event took place on Thursday (18/12/2025) in Ambon under the theme “Synergy and Collaboration Between the Business Community and Regional Government Toward a Just and Prosperous Maluku Economy.”

Musprov V was officially opened by Anthony Hilman, Head of Organization Affairs of the National Board (DPN) of APINDO, representing the APINDO Chairwoman. In his remarks, Anthony emphasized that the Provincial Conference serves as a strategic momentum to reinforce APINDO’s role in creating a conducive business climate and in promoting decent and sustainable job creation.

Based on data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Maluku’s economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2024 reached 6.52 percent year-on-year, reflecting a positive economic recovery trend. However, Anthony also highlighted persistent structural challenges, particularly the high level of labor informality. The proportion of informal workers in Maluku increased from 64.44 percent to 68.41 percent between February 2024 and February 2025, indicating limited absorption of labor by the formal sector.

“This data shows that there is still significant room for the business sector to grow through investment that strengthens the local economic structure, creates jobs, and improves workforce quality. As a strategic partner of the government, APINDO must be present with concrete and collaborative solutions,” Anthony Hilman stressed.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Musprov V APINDO Maluku, Raymundus, reported that the conference was held in accordance with APINDO’s Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART) and relevant organizational decrees. The main agenda included evaluating the performance of the previous leadership, setting future work programs, and electing and appointing the new DPP APINDO Maluku leadership. The conference was attended by representatives from six District Boards (DPK) of APINDO across Maluku Province, reflecting active participation from all elements of the organization.

In his address, Roberth Tanamal, Chairman of DPP APINDO Maluku, expressed appreciation to the organizing committee and all parties involved in ensuring the success of Musprov V. He reaffirmed APINDO’s commitment to strengthening its role as a strategic partner of the regional government in driving economic growth. According to him, Maluku’s business community must remain innovative, adaptive, and collaborative amid increasingly complex economic dynamics.

“I hope the new leadership will work in a solid and accountable manner, embrace all members, and continue to uphold the values of togetherness and organizational ethics,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Secretary of the Maluku Provincial Government, Kasrul Selang, representing the provincial administration, noted that Maluku’s contribution to the national economy remains at around 3 percent and needs to be further enhanced. He also highlighted Maluku’s relatively low level of fiscal independence, compounded by a Rp375 billion budget cut, underscoring the need for stronger synergy between the government and the business sector.

“The Maluku Provincial Government hopes this Provincial Conference will produce constructive and visionary decisions, and encourage entrepreneurs to become pioneers of regional development while maintaining harmonious industrial relations,” he concluded.

Through the series of plenary sessions at Musprov V, which included leadership evaluation and the formulation of future programs, Roberth Tanamal was re-elected as Chairman of DPP APINDO Maluku, accompanied by Dr. Ristianto Sugiono, MM. The conference was also attended by APINDO Executive Director Rudolf Saut, as well as representatives from DPK APINDO of Ambon City, Buru Regency, Central Maluku Regency, East Seram Regency, and West Seram Regency.
