PASURUAN, East Java – The management board of the Pasuruan City Leadership Council (DPK) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) for the 2026–2031 term was officially inaugurated at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of the regional government, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), academics, business associations, and APINDO East Java officials. The event marked an important step in strengthening ties between the private sector and the government to accelerate regional economic growth.

Pasuruan Mayor Adi Wibowo, popularly known as Mas Adi, emphasized that APINDO is a key partner for the government in driving economic activity. The business sector, he said, serves as an engine of development while contributing to improvements in the living standards of local communities.

“Congratulations to the newly inaugurated DPK APINDO Pasuruan City management for the 2026–2031 term. This moment must be used to strengthen cooperation through the pentahelix approach,” Mas Adi said. He added that the organization plays a key role in facilitating new investment and creating more employment opportunities.

Furthermore, Mas Adi warned that the next five years would be marked by significant economic challenges at both the national and global levels. Businesses are expected to face uncertainty over energy prices, changing tax policies, high interest rates, and increasingly intense market competition.

In response to these challenges, the Mayor conveyed three key messages to the new APINDO management. First, to help the government create employment opportunities. Second, to foster a healthy and fair industrial climate. Third, to implement circular economy principles, reduce carbon emissions, and involve local MSMEs in the supply chains of large industries.

Mas Adi also called for efforts to strengthen the quality of the local workforce through greater synchronization—or a link and match approach—between educational curricula and industry needs. The strategy is expected to ensure that young people in Pasuruan City become a priority in the local labor market.

Responding to the Mayor’s directives, Chairman of DPK APINDO Pasuruan City, Wahbi Ahmad, expressed his organization’s full readiness to work in alignment with the city government’s strategic policies.

“We are fully committed to continuing to collaborate and build strong synergy with the regional government going forward,” Wahbi stressed.

Appreciation was also expressed by Jhonson Simanjuntak, Deputy Chairman for Organization and Regional Empowerment of APINDO East Java. He said the harmonious relationship between the Pasuruan City Government and the business community would be a key attraction for investors.

Jhonson believes that strong synergy would not only benefit large-scale investment, but also have a positive impact on MSME development and the competitiveness of local businesses.

“With the new management structure in place, APINDO Pasuruan City is expected to become a key driver of economic growth by creating a conducive and sustainable business climate,” he concluded.
