APINDO Papua Provincial Leadership for 2025–2030 Officially Inaugurated

Jayapura, December 13, 2025 — The Provincial Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Papua for the 2025–2030 term was officially inaugurated in a solemn ceremony held at the Mercure Jayapura Hotel on Saturday (13/12). The inauguration was led by Chairwoman of the National Executive Board (DPN) of APINDO, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, and attended by regional government officials, business stakeholders, and representatives of labor unions.

The event marked a strategic momentum for consolidating the business community in Papua, while strengthening APINDO’s role as a government partner in promoting inclusive economic growth, job creation, and improvements to the regional investment climate.

In her remarks, APINDO Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani emphasized that the inauguration of the APINDO Papua leadership forms part of broader efforts to reinforce the role of businesses at the regional level as a key pillar of national economic development.

“Indonesia is currently at a critical economic juncture. However, more than half of the national workforce remains in the informal sector, while job creation capacity has yet to fully keep pace with annual labor market needs. This is where the role of the business community, including in Papua, becomes crucial,” Shinta Widjaja Kamdani stated.

She added that APINDO continues to strengthen its organization from the national to the regional level to ensure that policy advocacy, investment facilitation, and job creation efforts move in a unified and effective direction.

“APINDO is not only a home for large corporations, but a shared platform for all business actors striving to create jobs. When APINDO Papua is strong and cohesive, its contribution to both the regional and national economy will become increasingly tangible,” she added.

Papua Vice Governor Aryoko Alberto Ferdinand Rumaropen, in his address, expressed appreciation for APINDO Papua and underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and the business sector.

“APINDO plays a strategic role as a bridge between entrepreneurs and the government. Amid regional development challenges, the business sector serves as a driving force for economic growth, job creation, and the improvement of community welfare in Papua,” he said.

He further noted that the Papua Provincial Government remains committed to fostering dialogue and partnerships with APINDO to create a business climate that is conducive, transparent, and equitable.

“The vision of a progressive, productive, and harmonious Papua can only be realized through close synergy between the government, the business community, and all stakeholders,” he stressed.

The newly elected Chairman of APINDO Papua, Moses Morin, conveyed the commitment of the new leadership to strengthening organizational consolidation and ensuring APINDO’s presence is felt across the region. “To date, APINDO Papua has successfully established six Regency-Level Executive Boards out of a total of nine. This serves as a strong foundation to ensure APINDO acts as a strategic partner for both government and business actors throughout Papua,” Moses Morin said.

He emphasized that tourism, fisheries, agriculture, and cross-border trade cooperation with Papua New Guinea (PNG) will be key priorities in strengthening Papua’s economy going forward. “Jayapura is Indonesia’s eastern gateway to the Pacific region. We want Papua to become an epicenter of regional economic growth through integrated trade, investment, and logistics,” he stated.

The inauguration of the APINDO Papua leadership for the 2025–2030 term was preceded by a Thanksgiving Worship Service to welcome Christmas, held together with 60 children from the Putri Kerahiman Hawai Orphanage in Jayapura. The event included the distribution of care packages as an expression of social responsibility and APINDO’s commitment to building Papua inclusively not only through economic development, but also through humanitarian efforts.

The agenda continued with an Economic Dialogue featuring APINDO Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani and Head of the Papua Provincial Office of Manpower, Cooperatives, and MSMEs Jimmy Alberto Y. Thesia. The discussion focused on strengthening the investment climate, labor issues, and MSME development as pillars of regional economic growth, while reaffirming the importance of synergy between government and the business sector in creating sustainable employment opportunities in Papua.

The inauguration was attended by representatives of the Papua Regional House of Representatives (DPR Papua), the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), the Deputy Mayor of Jayapura, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, representatives of national banks (BTN and Bank Mandiri), labor union representatives, chairpersons of APINDO Regency Executive Boards across Papua Province, and MSME actors from various business sectors.
