Kisaran – Efforts to enhance the quality of the local workforce in Asahan Regency have entered a new phase through a research and discussion forum titled “Strategies for Collaboration Between BLK and Industry in Improving Skilled Local Workers Based on Thematic BLK for Bioindustry and Tourism.” The event took place at the Bapperida Asahan Hall on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

The collaborative initiative brought together key stakeholders, including the Indonesian Employers’ Association (APINDO), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the Manpower Office, Agriculture Office, Fisheries Office, Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Office, Food Security Office, and Bapperida Asahan.
In his remarks, the Head of the Asahan Manpower Office stressed the importance of strengthening connectivity between training centers (BLK) and industry. “Improving workforce quality cannot be done in isolation. BLK must be connected with the business world so that the training provided is relevant to actual job market needs,” he stated.
Representatives from Apindo and Kadin Asahan welcomed the initiative, describing the forum as a strategic bridge between education and training providers and the real needs of industry particularly in the agriculture, fisheries, bioindustry, and tourism sectors.
The discussion was dynamic, exploring both challenges and opportunities in local human resource development. The outcomes of this event will be formulated into strategic recommendations for the regional government to design policies that strengthen human capital development and position thematic BLKs as drivers of a local potential–based economy.
Through its involvement, Apindo Asahan reaffirmed its commitment to promoting multi-stakeholder synergy to produce job-ready, competitive, and highly skilled workers at both regional and national levels.
