BANDUNG, June 25, 2026 – The 10th Provincial Conference (Musprov X) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) West Java, held at eL Royale Hotel Bandung, unanimously re-elected Ning Wahyu Astutik as Chairwoman of the West Java Provincial Board (DPP APINDO West Java) for the 2026–2031 term.
Carrying the theme “From West Java for Indonesia: Strong Entrepreneurs, Excellent Industry, Sustainable Economy,” Musprov X served as a strategic forum to formulate the organization’s future direction while strengthening the role of the business community in supporting national economic growth.
Anthony Hilman, Chairman for Organizational Affairs of APINDO’s National Board (DPN APINDO), stated that West Java continues to demonstrate solid economic performance. In 2025, the province’s economy grew by 5.32 percent, exceeding the previous year’s achievement. The manufacturing sector remained the backbone of the regional economy, contributing 41.39 percent to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP).
During the conference, Anthony Hilman also outlined seven national strategic agendas prepared by APINDO’s National Board to serve as a roadmap for APINDO chapters throughout Indonesia, including West Java. These initiatives encompass strengthening labor and employment affairs, strategic policy advocacy, investment development through the APINDO Investment Unit, and the establishment of a Task Force Debottlenecking to address business obstacles in a timely and measurable manner.
“DPN APINDO will continue to support and strengthen APINDO West Java. We share responsibilities and face change together through the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated,” said Anthony Hilman.
Despite the positive economic outlook, labor market challenges remain significant. Head of the West Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office, Hj. I Gusti Agung Kim Fajar Wiyati Oka, M.Si., expressed appreciation for the work and dedication of the APINDO West Java Board during the 2021–2026 term.
“West Java’s Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) declined by 0.10 percentage points to 6.64 percent in February 2026. However, the gap between job seekers and available employment opportunities remains substantial,” she explained.
According to data from the Nyari Gawe employment application, there were 796,434 registered job seekers, while available vacancies totaled only 14,642 positions. In addition, from January to May 2026, a total of 5,044 workers were affected by layoffs.
In her remarks, Ning Wahyu Astutik reflected on her leadership journey over the past five years as a period filled with both challenges and valuable lessons. She noted that APINDO West Java has evolved into an increasingly influential organization through close collaboration with various stakeholders, including regional governments and the business community.
“APINDO West Java must continue to be part of the solution. We face real challenges, including the global economic slowdown and operational constraints, ranging from electricity supply disruptions that halt production to regulatory uncertainties related to licensing and spatial planning,” emphasized Ning Wahyu Astutik.
The conference also produced a number of strategic recommendations on both internal and external organizational matters and elected Herman Widjaja as Chairman of the Advisory Council. The event was attended by representatives of 27 APINDO Regency and Municipal Boards (DPK) from across West Java.
