Inauguration of APINDO Banten Provincial Board and 2025 Rakerkonprov: Synergy to Enhance Regional Competitiveness

Tangerang, June 3, 2025 – The Provincial Leadership Council (DPP) of APINDO Banten officially held its Inauguration Ceremony for the 2024–2029 term and the 2025 Provincial Working and Consultation Meeting (Rakerkonprov) at Pakons Prime Hotel, Tangerang City. The event was themed "Strengthening the Organization and APINDO Banten's Role in Driving Economic Growth and Investment Appeal in Banten Province Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045."

In her opening remarks, APINDO National Board (DPN) Chairperson Shinta Widjaja Kamdani emphasized the crucial role of APINDO in fostering strategic collaborations to address future economic challenges. She congratulated Tomy Rachmatullah on his appointment as the new Chair of APINDO Banten for the 2024–2029 period, accompanied by Executive Chair Kris Rianto Adidarma.

Shinta highlighted the urgency of addressing national issues such as economic slowdown. “Indonesia’s economy grew by 4.87% in Q1 2025, a deceleration compared to the previous year. Global challenges like energy and food disruptions call for active participation from the business sector,” she noted.

She further underlined the strategic value of Banten’s manufacturing, real estate, and tourism industries as key investment sectors. Banten, she said, recorded Rp105 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI) and contributed Rp873 trillion to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), positioning it as the seventh-largest contributor nationwide.

“With a housing backlog of 12.7 million units and 3.8 million domestic tourists annually, Banten holds significant growth potential in the property and tourism sectors,” she added.

Banten Vice Governor Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah expressed strong optimism for synergy between APINDO and the provincial government. “Banten’s four strategic advantages include its prime location as part of the Jabodetabek megapolitan area,” he stated.

He also emphasized the importance of a conducive investment climate and APINDO’s role in promoting digital-based entrepreneurship “Currently, 85% of Banten’s population are internet users. This presents a tremendous opportunity for MSME digitalization. Deloitte’s study suggests that digitalizing MSMEs could boost the national economy by up to 2%. We urge APINDO to be a networking hub for Banten’s entrepreneurs to progress together across all sectors,” he said.

The Banten Provincial Government, he added, is ready to facilitate cross-sector collaboration through online training, policy synergy, and integrated investment promotion.

In his address, newly appointed APINDO Banten Chair Tomy Rachmatullah reaffirmed his commitment to positioning APINDO Banten as a proactive, progressive, and solution-oriented strategic partner. “We will focus on strengthening the organization, increasing investment, enhancing cross-sector collaboration, and developing MSMEs and the workforce,” he declared.

He also stressed the significance of the 2025 Rakerkonprov as a strategic platform to shape the organization’s direction for the next five years. “We will outline concrete work plans in the areas of organizational development, program implementation, and business advocacy,” Tomy said.

The inauguration ceremony, led by APINDO National Board Vice Chair Eddy Hussy, included the formal reading of the APINDO National Board’s Decree and the official swearing-in of the new leadership. Following keynote addresses from various dignitaries, the event continued with a luncheon hosted by the APINDO Chairperson, followed by the Rakerkonprov plenary session. The event concluded with the presentation of the meeting’s resolutions and a closing address by the Chair of APINDO Banten.

Distinguished guests in attendance included representatives from key institutions across Banten Province, such as Banten Provincial Parliament Speaker H. Fahmi Hakim, S.E., and Banten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Chair M. Azzari Jayabaya.

Also present were officials from BPJS Employment (Banten Regional Office), Bank Indonesia (Banten Office), and various regional government agencies, including the Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) Ir. Hj. Virgojanti, M.Si., the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) H. Septo Kalnadi, and the Head of the Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) H. Babar Suharso, S.T., M.Si. Leaders of labor unions and workers' associations from across the province also took part in the event, underscoring a spirit of cross-sector collaboration among government, businesses, and labor organizations to strengthen Banten’s economic ecosystem.
