APINDO Economic Roadmap Socialization with the National Executive Board: Driving National Economic Transformation
Wednesday, 12 March 2025
Jakarta - As part of its commitment to promoting the business sector as a driver of national economic transformation, the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) held the Socialization of the APINDO Economic Roadmap 2024-2029 on March 12, 2025. This event is one of APINDO’s flagship programs aimed at introducing strategic policy directions for the business sector in addressing challenges and leveraging economic opportunities in the future. The event, conducted virtually, featured Agung Pambudhi as the keynote speaker and was moderated by Denis Dimas Permana.
In his presentation before 24 members of the National Executive Board (DPP) in attendance, Agung Pambudhi explained that this roadmap is a strategic document developed over a period of seven months since 2023. The formulation process involved surveys of more than 1,500 respondents from the business sector, as well as inputs from various experts and institutions such as CSIS and the World Bank. The roadmap highlights several macroeconomic challenges, including global uncertainty due to war, geopolitical conflicts, climate change, and rapid technological transformation, particularly digitalization and artificial intelligence.
Through this roadmap, APINDO aims to provide concrete guidance for businesses in enhancing competitiveness and fostering national economic growth.
Furthermore, five key priorities in the APINDO roadmap were comprehensively presented, covering:
- Legal certainty and improvements in institutional frameworks and regulatory coordination for businesses.
- Strengthening technology policies and human resource development to enhance productivity.
- Optimization of industrial, trade, investment, and fair competition policies.
- Adoption of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and the development of green industries.
- Infrastructure development, energy transition, and the enhancement of digital facilities to support digital economic growth.
These five priorities are expected to create a more conducive and competitive business ecosystem amid increasingly complex global economic dynamics.

The discussion and Q&A session following the speaker’s presentation covered various strategic issues raised by participants from different regions in Indonesia. Some key topics discussed included the implementation of labor policies that have yet to fully involve the business sector, challenges related to corruption and the abuse of power in economic governance, the importance of legal certainty in land dispute resolution, and the decentralization of business permits, which is seen as a way to reduce bureaucratic burdens for regional entrepreneurs. Additionally, issues related to the green economy and sustainability were also highlighted in this roadmap, particularly in response to new policies emerging under the new national leadership.
With the Socialization of the APINDO Economic Roadmap 2024-2029, it is hoped that businesses will gain a clear understanding of the policy directions for the next five years and actively contribute to their implementation. APINDO will continue to serve as a bridge between the government and the business sector in formulating policies that support inclusive and sustainable economic growth. This socialization marks an initial step in fostering stronger synergy among various stakeholders to achieve Indonesia’s vision as an advanced and highly competitive nation on a global scale.
