Gajali Abdul Mutalib Re-elected to Lead APINDO North Maluku for 2026–2031, Strengthening Local Businesses

TERNATE, October 25, 2026 — Gajali Abdul Mutalib has been re-elected Chairperson of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) North Maluku Provincial Leadership Council (DPP) for the 2026–2031 term at the association’s Third Provincial Conference (Musprov III), held in Ternate on Sunday (October 25). His second term is expected to further strengthen the role of local businesses in driving regional economic growth.

The conference was attended by North Maluku Provincial Secretary Syamsuddin A. Kadir and APINDO Deputy Secretary-General Aditya Warman, who represented APINDO’s National Leadership Council (DPN).

In his remarks, Aditya emphasized that the provincial conference was more than a routine organizational event. It was an opportunity to evaluate performance, strengthen organizational consolidation, and establish APINDO North Maluku’s strategic direction and priorities for the years ahead.

He highlighted North Maluku’s substantial economic growth potential, noting that rising investment and industrial development must be accompanied by greater participation from local businesses to ensure that the benefits of economic growth are more widely shared.

Key strategic issues included expanding opportunities for local businesses and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to participate in industrial supply chains, reducing business barriers and logistics costs across the island province, and improving workforce quality and productivity.

“APINDO must continue to serve as a common home for the business community—not merely as an association, but as an organization capable of listening to its members, identifying the real challenges they face, and advocating for solutions,” Aditya said.

He expressed hope that Musprov III would produce concrete, measurable, and actionable work programs, enabling APINDO North Maluku to respond more effectively to business needs while making a tangible contribution to regional economic development.

Meanwhile, re-elected APINDO North Maluku Chairperson Gajali Abdul Mutalib underscored the importance of strengthening the organization’s role as both a strategic partner to the regional government and a platform for advocating business interests.

During the 2026–2031 term, APINDO North Maluku is expected to play a more active role in promoting local business participation in investment and industrial development, expanding business opportunities, and fostering productive collaboration with the government and other stakeholders.

“Going forward, we want APINDO North Maluku to become more united, effectively bridge the interests of the business community and the government, and help ensure that regional economic growth delivers tangible benefits for local businesses and the wider community,” he said.

Gajali’s re-election marks an opportunity to continue strengthening the organization while advancing a more inclusive and competitive business agenda.

Musprov III also elected Hanny Katili Sitaba as Chairperson of the Advisory Council. Moving forward, APINDO North Maluku is expected to strengthen synergies between the business community and the government, enabling the region to maximize its economic potential, create business opportunities, expand employment, and improve public welfare.
