Banten Deputy Governor Urges APINDO to Map Business Sectors and Challenges
Wednesday, 04 June 2025
Tangerang – Banten Deputy Governor A. Dimyati Natakusumah has called on the Provincial Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Banten to map out the various types of businesses operating in the region and identify the challenges they currently face.
“From there, we can work together to resolve these issues,” Dimyati stated following the inauguration of the Banten APINDO leadership board in Tangerang City on Tuesday (June 3, 2025).
Dimyati urged APINDO to categorize businesses into large enterprises and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). These should further be grouped based on sector—such as textiles, chemicals, culinary, and others.
“Once the grouping is complete,” he continued, “APINDO should prepare an Inventory of Issues (DIM) specific to each business group. With clear problems identified, we can jointly seek resolutions and actionable solutions.”
In his address, Dimyati emphasized that APINDO is a vital partner of the government in driving economic growth. Therefore, he said, entrepreneurs must be supported to ensure job creation, increased income, regional GDP (GRDP), and local revenue (PAD). “Ultimately, this will foster economic growth and improve community welfare,” he said.
Dimyati stressed the importance of synergy between the government and APINDO to advance societal welfare. He outlined a framework based on the acronym APINDO to guide this collaboration:
A for Advocacy: Collaboratively formulating policies and regulations, including licensing, taxation, and minimum wage (UMR) policies.
P for Protection: Joint efforts to ensure legal and labor protection for business actors.
I for Information Access: Entrepreneurs must have robust access to information to thrive. “Those with better access to information often succeed more,” Dimyati noted.
N for Networking: Building strong networks at the local, regional, national, and international levels is essential for collaboration and access to opportunities.
D for Competitiveness: Products must be competitive to penetrate local, national, and global markets. “This competitiveness must be developed collectively,” he asserted.
O for Opportunity: “Entrepreneurs must be able to recognize and seize emerging opportunities,” Dimyati added.
The inauguration of the DPP APINDO Banten leadership was carried out by APINDO Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani. Also in attendance were members of the Banten Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD). Following his speech, Dimyati officially opened the 2025 Banten APINDO Provincial Work and Consultation Meeting by striking a gong.
Shinta remarked that Banten has abundant resources for business growth. However, both the province and the nation face significant challenges in boosting economic growth to 8%. She emphasized that overcoming these hurdles requires hard work and strong partnerships with the government and various stakeholders. “APINDO must not only overcome these challenges but also seize the opportunities,” she stated.
APINDO’s current vision, she added, is to create a conducive, competitive, and sustainable investment climate. “And most importantly, to generate employment,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chair of APINDO Banten, Tomy Rachmatullah, said that his first priority is to establish collaboration with various stakeholders. “Collaboration is key to achieving APINDO’s vision and mission,” he said.
