KUPANG — Hotel Naka Kupang, in collaboration with the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO), the Indonesian Chinese Social Association (PSMTI), and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) NTT, organized a blood donation drive at Hotel Naka Kupang on Friday (April 17, 2026).
The humanitarian initiative, themed “A Drop of Love, A Million Meanings,” drew strong public enthusiasm, with residents flocking to donate blood.
According to observations by victorynews.id, participants included not only residents of Kupang City but also public officials, among them the Head of Kota Lama Police Sector, AKP Zainal Arifin Abdurahman, who took part as a donor.
One of the donors, Dr. Muntasir, a lecturer at Nusa Cendana University in Kupang, expressed appreciation for the initiative.
“This is a form of charity. Even if we cannot do much for others, at least we can share a small part of what we have with those in need,” said Muntasir, who has donated blood fifteen times.
He added that, in addition to helping others, blood donation can also contribute to maintaining and refreshing one’s health.
Secretary of Kadin Kupang, Kristian Djari, noted that blood transfusions remain highly valuable, as demand continues to rise for patients in need.
“Almost every day, people are searching for blood through WhatsApp groups for the safety of their family members. That’s why we organized this activity to help one another,” he said, urging residents of Kupang to be more responsive to current needs and to continue supporting humanitarian efforts through blood donation.
Meanwhile, APINDO Kupang Secretary Eric Robin stated that the target for the event was 250 blood bags.
“By midday alone, we had already collected more than 100 bags. We are optimistic that the target will be achieved,” he said.
He added that the activity is routinely held every three months in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of NTT Province.
“We have conducted this regularly. Last year, we collaborated with Kadin NTT and Hotel Naka. This time, we also involved APINDO and PSMTI,” he explained.
The initiative aims to maintain adequate blood stock at PMI to support community needs, particularly in Kupang.
“We invited the general public, as well as institutions such as the Mobile Brigade (Brimob), the Army, Navy, Forestry Office, and others,” he concluded.
