APINDO Cilacap and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Promote Social Security Protection for Vulnerable Workers

CILACAP — The Cilacap Regency Leadership Council of the Indonesian Employers Association (DPK APINDO Cilacap), in collaboration with the Cilacap Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, continues to promote broader employment social security coverage for laborers and vulnerable workers.
The initiative is being carried out through awareness and outreach programs targeting businesses and groups of workers who face higher risks of workplace accidents and socioeconomic challenges.
Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cilacap Branch, Rulli Jaya Santika, said employment social security is essential for all workers, both those in the formal sector and vulnerable worker groups.
According to Rulli, occupational risks can arise at any time. Therefore, workers and their families need adequate protection when faced with unforeseen circumstances.
“That is why we continue to encourage more workers to obtain social security protection. Vulnerable workers also need a sense of security while working, so that when risks occur, they and their families have protection,” Rulli said.
He explained that the cooperation with APINDO Cilacap plays an important role in expanding education and awareness among business owners regarding workers’ rights and employment protection.
Rulli added that companies have a significant role in ensuring their workers receive employment social security protection appropriate to their needs and occupational risks.
Meanwhile, Chairman of DPK APINDO Cilacap Bambang Sri Wahono welcomed the outreach initiative. He said awareness among business owners regarding worker protection needs to be continuously strengthened, including protection for workers in vulnerable conditions.
“Business is not only about productivity, but also about creating a sense of security and protection for workers. When workers are protected, better industrial relations will naturally be established,” Bambang said.
He expressed hope that the initiative would strengthen shared awareness among employers, workers, and stakeholders to expand BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership across Cilacap Regency.
The synergy between APINDO and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is expected to broaden access to employment social security protection, particularly for laborers and vulnerable workers.
Through stronger collaboration between the business community, social security institutions, and other stakeholders, the protection of vulnerable workers can be strengthened while supporting the development of healthier and more harmonious industrial relations in Cilacap.
