APINDO Central Papua Pledges Full Support for Governor’s Five-Year Vision and Mission

NABIRE, June 5, 2025 – The Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) of Central Papua has reaffirmed its strong commitment to fully support and uphold the vision and mission of the Governor of Central Papua over the next five years. In an era of increasingly dynamic development, the business sector plays a vital role as a strategic partner to local governments in driving inclusive, sustainable economic growth that benefits all levels of society.

Fransiskus Pekei, Chairman of APINDO Central Papua, stated that the organization is ready to become a leading force in strengthening the synergy between the government and the business community in the region. “We fully welcome the development agenda presented by the Governor of Central Papua. We recognize that realizing such a comprehensive vision requires close collaboration between the public and private sectors,” said Fransiskus in an exclusive interview.

Full Support for Infrastructure Development and the Local Economy

Fransiskus Pekei emphasized that the Governor’s focus on infrastructure development, human resource capacity building, and improved public services aligns well with the aspirations of the business community. “Improved infrastructure opens wider market access, facilitates smoother distribution of goods and services, and fosters a more conducive investment climate. These are crucial foundations for entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to regional development,” he said.

APINDO Central Papua also sees significant potential in developing key local sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and the creative economy, which can elevate community welfare. Fransiskus stated, “We will encourage our members to invest in and empower local potential so that the Central Papuan economy can grow independently and sustainably.”

Synergy to Improve Community Welfare

According to Fransiskus, the success of development should not be measured solely by economic growth, but also by its impact on public welfare. “APINDO Central Papua is committed to supporting social programs initiated by the government, particularly those related to human capital development through training and vocational education, MSME growth, and community empowerment in remote areas,” he explained.

He added that the business sector also has a key role in creating quality employment opportunities. “We understand the importance of generating decent and sustainable jobs for the people of Central Papua. This aligns with the government’s vision to reduce poverty and improve living standards,” Fransiskus continued.

APINDO Central Papua’s Commitment to a Healthy Business Ecosystem

The APINDO Central Papua chairman also stressed the importance of building a transparent and healthy business ecosystem. “We will continue to prioritize ethical business practices with high professionalism and integrity. APINDO Central Papua is committed to being a driving force for socially and environmentally responsible entrepreneurship,” he said.

Fransiskus also called on all entrepreneurs in Central Papua to adapt to technological advancements and innovations to improve the competitiveness of local products in national and international markets. “We want local businesses not just to be consumers, but also to become producers and exporters who can compete on a global scale,” he said.

APINDO Central Papua as a Strategic Government Partner

In fulfilling its role, APINDO Central Papua will actively participate in various forums and dialogues with the regional government to ensure effective and targeted implementation of development programs. “We want to ensure that the voice of the business sector is heard and can meaningfully contribute to policy-making in regional development,” Fransiskus stated.

He further affirmed that APINDO Central Papua is ready to facilitate communication between the government and entrepreneurs, while also promoting streamlined licensing processes and improved access to capital. “We believe that with pro-business policies and synergistic support, Central Papua can become a more prosperous and developed region,” he concluded.

The support of APINDO Central Papua under the leadership of Fransiskus Pekei represents a major asset for the Provincial Government in realizing its five-year development agenda. By prioritizing synergy, professionalism, and social responsibility, APINDO Central Papua stands ready to support every step of the province’s development journey toward greater progress and public welfare.
