Not Just About Business, Apindo Kudus Reminds Employers to Comply with Labor Laws

KUDUS – The Kudus Regency Board (DPK) of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) held a labor law seminar at the Griptha Hotel on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).
The seminar served as a forum to address several new regulations in labor administration.
The event, attended by representatives from various companies in Kudus, featured a lineup of expert speakers, including Central Java Police Special Criminal Investigation Director Police Commissioner Arif Budiman, Ministry of Manpower’s Director of Labor Norm Inspection Rinaldi Umar, and labor law practitioner and academic Willy Farianto.
Kudus Apindo Chairman Helmi Tas’an Wartono noted that labor regulations are highly complex, emphasizing that employers must thoroughly understand them to avoid violations.
Central Java Apindo Chairman Frans Kongi also urged business owners to strictly comply with labor laws to avoid criminal liability, including those related to labor legislation.
“As entrepreneurs, we must be careful. Apindo must uphold the law,” said Frans Kongi.
Helmi echoed Kongi’s statement, stressing that with the wide range of rules governing labor administration, business owners must be diligent to avoid inadvertently committing criminal acts.
Among the latest developments, Helmi highlighted the establishment of a labor affairs desk within the National Police and the creation of a new supervisory division within the Ministry of Manpower. He also pointed to the Constitutional Court’s Ruling No. 168/2023, which mandates the government to draft new labor regulations.
He expressed hope that the seminar would yield recommendations for improving labor legislation.
Meanwhile, Kudus Regent Sam’ani Intakoris praised Apindo’s initiative in organizing the seminar, underscoring that business owners must comply with all relevant regulations.
Sam’ani suggested that future Apindo forums should also involve agencies related to taxation and business licensing to foster synergy in improving Kudus’ business climate.
“From the government’s side, we remain committed to supporting entrepreneurs through licensing processes that are fast, accurate, and hassle-free. Business owners create jobs, and with jobs, the economy grows,” he said.
