IDX Central Sulawesi and APINDO Hold Capital Market School, Encouraging Businesses to “Level Up” in Investment

IDX Central Sulawesi and APINDO Hold Capital Market School, Encouraging Businesses to “Level Up” in Investment

PALU — The Central Sulawesi Representative Office of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in collaboration with the Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Central Sulawesi held a Capital Market School titled “Level-Up Investment by Understanding Capital Market Instruments,” aimed at enhancing financial and investment literacy among business actors.

The event was opened by APINDO Central Sulawesi Chair Wijaya Chandra, represented by Vice Chair Udin Salim. From the IDX Central Sulawesi office, Regional Head Putri Irnawati and Deputy Regional Head Dewi Nur were in attendance.

The main session was delivered by William from Stockbit Sekuritas Jakarta, who provided insights into investment opportunities and the development of Indonesia’s capital market.

Udin Salim expressed hope that participants would make the most of the program to gain a proper understanding before making investment decisions.

“The objective of this activity is to ensure that business actors within APINDO can make informed choices when selecting investment instruments,” he said.

In her presentation, Dewi Nur explained that the capital market serves as a platform connecting parties in need of funding with investors through the trading of securities such as stocks and bonds.

She outlined key investment products in Indonesia’s capital market, including equities, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), derivatives, and asset-backed securities.

All of these instruments are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Dewi emphasized the importance of foundational understanding before investing, introducing the “3P” principle: Understand, Own, Monitor (Paham, Punya, Pantau).

“Understand first before buying. I prefer when people ask questions and refrain from buying stocks because they have not yet fully understood,” she told APINDO members.

Participants were also educated on the importance of the Single Investor Identification (SID), a unique investor ID issued by the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), which is a mandatory requirement for conducting transactions in the capital market.

Through this initiative, IDX Central Sulawesi and APINDO aim to encourage more regional business actors to become financially literate, manage funds productively, and leverage the capital market as an alternative for asset growth and business financing.
