Tangerang Industries Embrace Digital Era, Apindo Applauds City’s OJT Program

TANGERANG CITY – The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Tangerang City is encouraging the optimization of the On the Job Training (OJT) program currently implemented by the Tangerang City Government. The initiative is seen as an effective bridge between the education sector and the labor market.

Apindo Tangerang City Chairperson H. Ismail said that collaboration between the local government and companies in the region has been running well.

“This partnership is quite good. We continue to discuss ways to strengthen and improve the program’s implementation,” he stated.

Regarding digital transformation in the industrial sector, Ismail explained that most business players in Tangerang are beginning to adapt to technological advancements.

“We are now in the digital era. Industries in Tangerang are transforming and adjusting to technological progress,” he said.

He added that the adaptation process has been taking place gradually across various industries, both in manufacturing and services.

“Industrial players are starting to align with digital developments. This is crucial to maintaining competitiveness,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City Mayor H. Sachrudin emphasized that the OJT program is part of the city government’s strategy to enhance the quality of its human resources. The program provides job seekers with both training and hands-on work experience at partner companies.

“Through OJT, job seekers not only receive training but also gain real work experience in the field. This becomes a vital foundation before entering the labor market,” said Sachrudin.

According to him, the program is designed to ensure that Tangerang’s human resources are better prepared to compete in an increasingly competitive industrial landscape.

“OJT represents a concrete step by the Tangerang City Government to strengthen local workforce capacity and respond to the growing needs of industry,” he concluded.
