Ternate – The Central Halmahera chapter of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) held its 2nd Regional Conference for the 2025–2030 term at Amora Café, adopting the theme “Ready to Collaborate for a More Advanced and Prosperous Central Halmahera.”
The event was attended by representatives from the Central Halmahera Manpower and Transmigration Office, the North Maluku Provincial Board of APINDO (DPP APINDO Maluku Utara), as well as local business owners and entrepreneurs.
During the conference, Rosalina Sangaji was re-elected by acclamation as Chairperson of APINDO Central Halmahera for the 2025–2030 term. Meanwhile, Sam Hunter Mawikere was appointed as Chair of the Advisory Board for the same period.
In her remarks, Rosalina expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her to continue leading the organization and reaffirmed APINDO’s commitment to maintaining a stable business environment in Central Halmahera.
“North Maluku’s economic growth in the second quarter reached 32.09 percent, the highest in Indonesia. This achievement has been driven by the downstream nickel processing and mining industries. Despite global challenges and negative campaigns against industrial downstreaming, Central Halmahera continues to prove its strength as a nationally and internationally recognized nickel-producing region,” said Rosalina on Friday (October 17, 2025).
Rosalina further emphasized that APINDO’s role extends beyond representing employers in wage councils. The organization also serves as a balancing force in public policy, ensuring a conducive business climate, promoting productivity, and fostering cross-sector collaboration.
“Through this conference, we seek guidance and direction from APINDO’s National and Provincial Boards so that together we can effectively respond to future investment climate challenges,” she added.
Meanwhile, Chairman of APINDO North Maluku, Ghazali Abdul Mutalib, praised the successful convening of the conference and lauded the leadership of Rosalina Sangaji.
“We highly appreciate the successful organization of this Second Conference. Under Mrs. Rosalina Sangaji’s leadership, APINDO Central Halmahera has maintained strong synergy between the business sector and the local government. North Maluku’s impressive 32.09 percent economic growth in the second quarter was largely supported by industrial activities centered in Central Halmahera,” Ghazali stated.
He highlighted that the presence of industrial zones and nickel downstream processing in Central Halmahera is a concrete example of how the private sector drives regional economic competitiveness while creating new employment opportunities.
In the same event, Fauzan Anshari, Head of the Central Halmahera Manpower and Transmigration Office, noted that collaboration between businesses and local government has had a significant positive impact on community welfare.
Government data shows that the poverty rate in Central Halmahera dropped sharply from around 10 percent in 2023 to 6 percent in 2025.
“We recognize the vital role of the business community, including APINDO, in creating new jobs and supporting poverty reduction programs. As industrial activities expand in Central Halmahera, community welfare continues to improve,” Fauzan said.
The 2nd Regional Conference of APINDO Central Halmahera served as an important momentum to reinforce cooperation between the business community and local government in advancing a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive regional economy.
The event concluded with a shared spirit of unity among all participants, echoing the collective declaration:
“Entrepreneurs United, Indonesia Advancing.”
