Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia (APINDO) Riau Urges Compliance with Holiday Allowance (THR) Payments

PEKANBARU – The Riau chapter of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all member companies comply with government regulations regarding the payment of the Religious Holiday Allowance (Tunjangan Hari Raya / THR).
APINDO Riau Chairwoman Nila Riana stated that all APINDO members are required to fulfill their obligations in accordance with prevailing regulations, adding that the association consistently reminds companies each year to remain compliant.
According to Nila, THR payment is a mandatory obligation that has been clearly regulated by the government.
“For that reason, APINDO does not have any specific internal regulations concerning THR. We fully refer to government regulations governing THR payments,” she said.
She explained that APINDO’s role is to encourage and ensure member compliance with these rules. Regular reminders are issued ahead of Ramadan to prevent companies from delaying or neglecting workers’ entitlements.
In addition, APINDO Riau expressed its readiness to follow the latest government directives and policies, particularly the current appeal for companies to disburse THR earlier to help workers prepare for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Nila emphasized that compliance with THR payments is not merely a legal obligation, but also a moral responsibility of companies toward their employees.
“The Ramadan and Eid period is a moment eagerly anticipated by workers every year,” she said.
She further expressed hope that all companies would uphold this commitment to avoid disputes at the operational level. With good communication between employers and workers, THR payments are expected to be made smoothly and on time.
“In principle, APINDO Riau fully supports government policies and urges all members to carry out their THR payment obligations in accordance with applicable regulations,” Nila concluded.
