Semarang, June 3, 2026 – The Central Java Provincial Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) officially inaugurated its leadership for the 2026–2031 term during a ceremony held at Patra Semarang Hotel & Convention on Wednesday (June 3). The inauguration marked an important milestone in strengthening the role of the business community in driving regional and national economic growth amid increasingly dynamic global economic challenges.
The inauguration was led directly by APINDO Chairwoman Shinta W. Kamdani, accompanied by APINDO Vice Chairman Eddy Hussy, and witnessed by representatives of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), business organizations, academics, and various stakeholders from across Central Java.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, participants observed a moment of prayer in honor of the late Frans Kongi, who served as Chairman of APINDO Central Java from 2010 to 2026 and made significant contributions to the organization's development over more than a decade.
In her remarks, Shinta Kamdani congratulated the newly inaugurated APINDO Central Java leadership. She emphasized that Central Java remains one of Indonesia’s key economic pillars, recording economic growth of 5.37 percent in 2025, surpassing the national average.
“The spirit of Sesarengan Mbangun, Maju Bebarengan (Building Together, Advancing Together) must continue to guide our collective efforts in addressing increasingly complex global economic challenges,” she said.
Shinta also introduced APINDO’s Task Force Debottlenecking initiative, designed to assist businesses in overcoming licensing obstacles and operational challenges.
“Through the Task Force Debottlenecking, APINDO seeks to help businesses find solutions to various challenges they face, ensuring that the investment climate in Central Java remains competitive, conducive, and supportive of economic growth,” she explained.
On the same occasion, Helmi Tas’an Wartono officially assumed the role of Chairman of APINDO Central Java for the 2026–2031 term. In his address, he reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the organization and fostering closer collaboration with stakeholders.
“This inauguration follows the successful completion of the 13th Central Java Provincial Conference. I have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading this remarkable organization over the next five years, together with a team of highly capable and dedicated executives,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Taj Yasin Maimoen expressed appreciation for the contributions of the business community in maintaining economic stability and supporting regional development. He stressed that sustainable economic growth requires harmonious collaboration between employers and workers.
“I am optimistic that APINDO’s leadership will continue to strengthen cooperation with labor unions and workers. Central Java’s economy is currently driven largely by the manufacturing sector, making labor-intensive industries crucial to our development. We also recognize the strong commitment demonstrated by labor unions in Central Java. In addition, trade logistics should not rely solely on land transportation but be expanded through air and maritime connectivity as well,” he said.
As part of its commitment to strengthening the business ecosystem and enhancing workforce quality, APINDO Central Java signed several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, APINDO Training Center, and a number of higher education institutions, including Diponegoro University, Soegijapranata Catholic University, Muhammadiyah University of Magelang, Dian Nuswantoro University, STEKOM, and UNTAG.
In addition to the inauguration, the event featured a panel discussion titled “Resilience and Adaptation of Businesses in Central Java Amid Global Economic Shifts and Geopolitical Pressures.” The discussion brought together several prominent speakers, including Shinta Kamdani, Johni Martha from Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, Sakina Rosellasari, and Agus Sarjono.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by distinguished figures such as Irwan Hidayat, Chairman of the APINDO Central Java Advisory Board and President Director of PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk, Yudi Indras Wiendarto, Harry Nuryanto Soediro, as well as APINDO National Board executives including Anthony Hilman, Devi Kusumaningtyas, and Rudolf Saut.
