Jakarta, June 11, 2025 – The South Papua Provincial Board of APINDO (DPP APINDO Papua Selatan) held an official audience with the Chairperson of the National Board of APINDO (DPN APINDO), Shinta W. Kamdani, to strengthen institutional collaboration and report on the upcoming South Papua Regional Congress (Musprov), scheduled for June 28, 2025.
During the meeting, the Caretaker Chair of the South Papua APINDO Provincial Board, Herman Basik-Basik, conveyed that preparations for the congress were well underway and that the event would serve as a pivotal moment to establish a comprehensive organizational structure in the newly formed province.
“South Papua holds substantial economic potential, particularly in agriculture, plantation, and fisheries. Key commodities such as palm oil and sugarcane are expected to drive regional economic growth, alongside the emerging housing sector,” Basik-Basik stated.
The South Papua board also reported ongoing coordination efforts to establish Regency/Municipal Boards (DPK) across the region in collaboration with local governments, aiming to reinforce APINDO’s grassroots organizational network.
APINDO Chairperson Shinta W. Kamdani, accompanied by Executive Director Rudolf Saut, welcomed the visit and commended the outreach initiative taken by the South Papua board. “We fully support membership expansion through the recruitment of local enterprises as part of broader organizational consolidation,” she remarked.
Kamdani further invited the South Papua board to attend the 34th APINDO National Leadership Meeting (Rakerkonas) in Bandung, scheduled for August 6–8, 2025. The event will serve as a strategic platform for strengthening national networking.
The Chairperson also underscored the importance of South Papua APINDO’s active participation in key regional forums, including the Tripartite Cooperation Institution (LKS Tripartit), the Wage Council, and the role of Ad Hoc Judges in the Industrial Relations Court. By enhancing its presence in such platforms, APINDO South Papua is expected to become a constructive partner to both the government and labor unions in fostering a sound employment and investment climate in Indonesia’s youngest province.
Also in attendance at the meeting were members of the South Papua APINDO board: Johan F Paulus (Secretary), Cornelius Sanjayatna (Member), and Robert Liusyadi (Board Member).
