Meeting with Regent and Vice Regent, Karanganyar APINDO Shares Business Sector Concerns

Karanganyar – The Indonesian Employers' Association (APINDO) of Karanganyar Regency held an audience with Karanganyar Regent Rober Christanto and Vice Regent Adhe Eliana at the official residence of the regent earlier this week.
The meeting served as a platform for open communication between business actors and the local government, while also providing an opportunity to convey various challenges currently faced by the industrial sector in the Karanganyar region.
Chairman of APINDO Karanganyar, Edi Darmawan, expressed a range of concerns and hopes on behalf of local entrepreneurs.
According to Edi, the economic situation—still in recovery following the pandemic—combined with global pressures and national policies, has forced many companies to make extraordinary efforts just to stay afloat.
“We intended this meeting as a courtesy visit, especially since both the Regent and Vice Regent are newly inaugurated. We also shared the fact that the business climate in Karanganyar is currently quite challenging. Many of our fellow entrepreneurs are in a difficult situation, or, as I put it, ‘unwell,’” said Edi Darmawan on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Through the dialogue, APINDO hopes that the regional government can facilitate workforce training programs aligned with the industrial needs specific to Karanganyar.
Vice Regent Adhe Eliana responded to the concerns by expressing appreciation for APINDO’s willingness to engage in dialogue. She emphasized that the local government remains open to feedback and is committed to being a strategic partner for the business community.
“We understand the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. Therefore, synergy between the government and APINDO is crucial to ensure that the policies we formulate are truly responsive to real conditions on the ground,” said Adhe Eliana.
She also stated that the Karanganyar Regency Government is currently developing a range of workforce development programs tailored to industry demands.
“We aim to promote local economic growth by strengthening human resources and improving the licensing service system. The government cannot act alone, nor can the business sector. That’s why communication like this is something we intend to maintain,” Adhe told Radarsolo.com during her activities.
