UNY Visits Apindo Bekasi, Discussing Internship Opportunities and Industrial Collaboration

Bekasi – Yogyakarta State University (UNY) visited the Regional Leadership Council (DPK) of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Bekasi Regency on Friday, September 26, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the education sector and the business community. The meeting took place at the DPK Apindo Bekasi Secretariat, Spanish Square Block A No. 7-8, Kota Deltamas, Central Cikarang.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between industrial needs and the competencies of UNY graduates, ensuring that students are better prepared to enter the workforce. Chair of Education, Training, and Productivity at DPK Apindo Bekasi, Boy Chaidir Rosman, emphasized that this partnership is essential to align talent development with industry demand.

“By collaborating with UNY Yogyakarta, we can better support companies by providing skilled workers that match their requirements,” Boy Chaidir said.

He further highlighted that the manufacturing industry is undergoing a digital transformation, making graduates with expertise in artificial intelligence and programming increasingly vital for boosting productivity.

Meanwhile, UNY representatives stressed the importance of internship programs to connect students directly with industry practices. Arwan Nur Ramadhan, Expert Staff of UNY’s Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, explained that such programs help graduates quickly adapt and meet industry expectations.

“We want our alumni, whether residing in Bekasi, Jakarta, or elsewhere, to be successfully absorbed into the workforce. Collaboration with business associations ensures that graduates meet industry needs, both through internships during their studies and post-graduation programs,” said Arwan.

This initiative is expected to create a mutually beneficial relationship between universities and the business sector. Students will not only learn theories in class but also gain hands-on experience in industries, particularly in technology and manufacturing.

Through this visit, UNY and Apindo Bekasi Regency reaffirmed their commitment to improving the quality of human resources equipped to meet the challenges of the modern workforce.
