In Partnership with Local Government, APINDO Karawang Promotes Maternal and Child Welfare Law

KARAWANG – The Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Karawang held a Members Gathering on Thursday (July 7, 2025) at the Mercure Hotel Karawang. The event aimed to promote Law No. 4 of 2024 on Maternal and Child Welfare during the First 1,000 Days of Life.

The Karawang Regency Government expressed full support and appreciation for the initiative. Head of the Karawang Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans), Rosmalia Dewi, commended APINDO’s efforts, emphasizing that the event reflected a shared commitment to safeguarding the nation’s future generations.

“Together with DP3A, the Social Affairs Office, and Bappeda, we are fully committed to supporting this program to ensure its successful implementation,” Rosmalia said.

APINDO Karawang Chairman, Abdul Syukur, expressed hope that Karawang-based companies could serve as a national benchmark. If the program succeeds, he believes the regency could become a role model for other regions.

“Under this law, every company is required to provide a daycare facility,” Abdul Syukur explained.

He added that APINDO Karawang had already prepared a facility to fulfill this requirement and urged for the swift issuance of derivative regulations.

Abdul Syukur also underscored the critical importance of the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK), noting that daycare provision is now a legal obligation for all companies.

“Establishing daycare facilities is not an easy task. Some companies already operate them privately. However, under Law No. 4 of 2024, every company is mandated to do so. We aspire to be a national model,” he concluded.
