MALANG – The East Java Provincial Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) successfully hosted the 2025 Provincial Working and Consultation Meeting (Rakerkonprov) in Banyuwangi from May 20 to 22, under the theme "Strengthening Economic Foundations Through Local Excellence Amid Global Pressures."
The event gathered representatives from 30 city and regency-level Apindo boards (DPK) across East Java, including delegates from Malang City and Regency.
One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of Apindo Malang, which received an award for being the most active and high-performing DPK at the city/regency level. The award was presented directly to Sutjipto Harsono, Chair of Apindo Malang Regency.
Separately, Agus Subyantoro, Head of Advocacy and Industrial Relations (PHI) at Apindo Malang, stated that the recognition serves as a strong motivation to continue advocating for the interests of the business community.
“We are proud of this acknowledgment. It proves that the dedication of the entire Apindo Malang team is valued. Moving forward, we are committed to strengthening our role as a bridge between entrepreneurs and local government,” Agus affirmed on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
This year’s Rakerkonprov welcomed several key figures, including representatives from the Governor of East Java’s office, the Head of the Industry and Trade Office, and Banyuwangi’s regional leadership (Forkopimda), such as the Regent, Military Commander, Police Chief, and Naval Base Commander.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Chair of East Java Apindo, Banyuwangi government officials, the National Chair of Apindo (DPN), and the Governor of East Java. Attendees also participated in a talk show titled "Investment Potential and Human Capital Development in Banyuwangi," featuring speakers from government ministries, academia, and local authorities.
A significant milestone during the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between East Java Apindo and the University of Surabaya, along with a cooperation agreement between the university and the Banyuwangi Regency Government—seen as a strategic effort to bridge education and the business sector.
On the second day, participants visited several of Banyuwangi’s leading industries to learn about local business strategies and innovations. The itinerary also included cultural excursions to local art centers and the Osing Indigenous Village to explore tourism potential and cultural heritage.
The event concluded with a plenary session, where commissions presented outcomes on work programs, organizational strengthening, and public policy recommendations. These are expected to serve as guiding frameworks for East Java Apindo in navigating increasingly complex global economic dynamics.
“We are confident that collaboration between business actors, government, and academia will reinforce regional economic resilience,” said a representative of East Java Apindo.
With its rich and substantive agenda, the 2025 Rakerkonprov served not only as an evaluation forum but also as a strategic platform to fortify East Java’s economic foundations amid global uncertainties.
