BATAM – The Riau Islands Regional Police (Polda Kepri) held a Silaturahmi and dialogue session with the board members of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Riau Islands Province 2025 at the Radisson Hotel Batam on Thursday (Oct 16, 2025). The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between law enforcement and the business community in maintaining regional security and supporting economic growth in the province.
The meeting was attended by Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Asep Safrudin, senior police officials, Barelang Police Chief, Apindo Riau Islands Chair Stanly Rocky, S.H., M.H., Apindo Batam Chair Rafki Rasyid, and other Apindo members.
In his remarks, Apindo Riau Islands Chair Stanly Rocky expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Regional Police Chief for taking the time to meet and engage with business leaders. He emphasized that a safe and orderly environment in the province—especially in Batam—has provided a strong sense of security for investors.
“Riau Islands, particularly Batam, holds a strategic position for investment activities. Investors feel confident to invest thanks to the strong security support from the Riau Islands Police under the leadership of the Regional Police Chief. Apindo fully supports all Polda Kepri programs to maintain regional stability,” said Stanly.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Asep Safrudin highlighted the importance of strengthening coordination, communication, and cooperation among the police, the public, and business stakeholders under Apindo.
He underlined that such dialogue serves as an important forum to deliver transparent information about the region’s security conditions. He also instructed all district police chiefs to take firm action against acts of thuggery that could disrupt the local investment climate.
“Currently, the Riau Islands ranks third in Indonesia for economic growth, which reflects the significant contributions of entrepreneurs and Apindo members,” he said.
The Police Chief added that in 2025, the Riau Islands ranks eighth among Indonesia’s most attractive provinces for foreign investors. He attributed this to the province’s strategic location—close to Singapore and Malaysia—and its stable security climate.
Furthermore, Asep urged political figures to refrain from actions that could harm the region’s investment comfort and called on business leaders to expand job opportunities to reduce cases of human trafficking. Batam, he noted, remains one of the key gateways for illegal migrant workers leaving the country.
In addition to maintaining security, the Riau Islands Police also actively support government social and economic programs, such as the SPPG Kitchen Initiative and corn cultivation projects to strengthen community food resilience.
“On behalf of the Riau Islands Regional Police, I extend my gratitude to all business players for their continued support and contribution in maintaining both security and economic stability across the province,” Asep concluded.
