BANDA ACEH, May 20, 2026 — H. Ramli was unanimously re-elected as Chair of the Aceh Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers Association (DPP APINDO Aceh) for the 2026–2031 term during the sixth Provincial Conference (Musprov VI) held at Hermes Palace Hotel Banda Aceh on Wednesday (May 20, 2026).
In his remarks following the election, H. Ramli emphasized the importance of synergy in driving inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic growth in Aceh.
“Together, we will continue working hard to realize social justice for the people of Aceh through a business ecosystem that supports sustainable growth,” he stated.
Meanwhile, APINDO National Board Head of Organization Anthony Hilman expressed appreciation for the implementation of the conference while highlighting major national labor challenges.
“Employment is a matter of human dignity. However, the reality is that more than 59 percent of Indonesian workers remain in the informal sector without adequate protection, and Generation Z is the group most affected, contributing 67 percent of the national unemployment rate,” Anthony said.
He also drew attention to business certainty issues. Based on an APINDO survey, 38 percent of companies reportedly wait more than one year to obtain Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) permits.
Anthony further explained that Aceh’s economic growth slowed to 2.97 percent in 2025 due to the impact of natural disasters. The province’s unemployment rate stood at 5.6 percent, above the national average, while informal sector workers accounted for 63 percent of the workforce, or approximately 1.6 million people.
Despite these challenges, he noted that the manufacturing sector recorded positive growth of 4.63 percent, even as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries continued to dominate Aceh’s economy with a 32 percent contribution.
Meanwhile, Aceh Manpower Office Head Akmil Husain, who officially opened the conference, stressed the importance of improving workforce quality through training and certification programs.
“Despite budget efficiency challenges, the Manpower Office remains committed to facilitating post-disaster workforce recovery through business capital assistance and specialized training, while also expressing appreciation to companies that support internship programs and BPJS employment access for workers,” he said.
The sixth APINDO Aceh Provincial Conference was attended by regional government officials, APINDO national executives, and representatives from 23 APINDO regency and municipal boards across Aceh.
The event served as an important momentum for strengthening organizational consolidation in support of a more conducive business and investment climate in Aceh.
