Indonesia-Korea CEPA is in the final negotiation phase. The main obstacle within this process are: (i) Indonesia requires investment commitment from Korea to be included into the CEPA legal documents; (ii) Indonesia cannot accept the Korean proposal on tariff reduction of several sensitive products to face direct competition with Korean products just yet. This product are for example steel and iron; and (iii) Indonesia is not yet willling to liberalize its telecommunication sector as proposed by Korea.
