SEMARANG – Universitas Semarang (USM) continues to expand its partnership network with the business sector. Most recently, USM officially entered into a collaboration with the Central Java chapter of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Head of USM’s New Student Admissions Division, Albert, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., described the collaboration as a strategic step to bring the university closer to business players while supporting the implementation of practitioner-based learning.
“With this partnership, we can establish stronger ties with entrepreneurs, particularly in Central Java. Practitioners can also teach in accordance with the Ministry of Science and Technology’s regulations, ensuring that USM students not only gain academic knowledge but also relevant practical experience. We hope this synergy between USM and Apindo will continue to grow stronger,” Albert said.
He further explained that USM offers a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, which allows companies’ employees to have their learning and work experience formally recognized, thereby enhancing human resource competencies.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Apindo Central Java, Frans Kongi, welcomed the partnership positively. He emphasized that collaboration with universities is essential to produce graduates who are prepared to face the demands of the workforce.
“We are very pleased that USM is willing to cooperate with us. We hope this relationship will continue, complementing and strengthening one another. Ultimately, the goal is shared progress for the nation and the country,” Frans stated.
