PT MC PET Film Indonesia and APINDO Cilegon Hold Entrepreneurship Training for Laid-off Workers

CILEGON – As a form of concern for workers affected by the closure of business units, PT MC PET Film Indonesia, in collaboration with the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (APINDO) Cilegon, organized a training program themed “Building Mental Resilience & Readiness for Entrepreneurship After Employment” at Swiss-Belhotel Cilegon on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

The training was initiated following the closure of PT MC PET Film Indonesia’s business unit on July 1, 2025, which resulted in hundreds of workers losing their jobs.

Head of the Cilegon Manpower Office (Disnaker), Panca N. Widodo, through remarks delivered by Secretary of Disnaker, Sulelah, expressed high appreciation to the company and APINDO for their commitment to workers.

“This initiative sets an example for other companies because corporate responsibility does not end when employment relations are terminated. Companies must ensure that workers leave with skills, strong mental resilience, and new directions after layoffs,” Panca said.

He emphasized that the training not only equips participants with technical skills but also fosters new enthusiasm among workers.

In addition to receiving motivation on building self-confidence and managing finances post-employment, participants also had the opportunity to visit PT Paragon in Jakarta as a real-life example of innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

According to Panca, the Cilegon Manpower Office remains committed to supporting workers through skills training, job placement, industrial relations facilitation, and worker protection via BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

“If more companies replicate steps like this, industrial relations will become more harmonious, businesses will thrive in a conducive environment, and workers will feel valued,” he added.

He concluded by reminding participants to make the most of the training.

“We may lose jobs, but we must never lose spirit, confidence, and hope. With resilience, adaptability, and continuous skill development, God willing, new opportunities will open widely,” he stated.

The training was attended by workers affected by layoffs, supported by professional speakers, competent facilitators, and involving both trade unions and employers.
