PALU – In an effort to foster stronger ties and build positive collaboration between the business community and the banking sector, Bank Mandiri’s Sulawesi-Maluku Regional Office hosted a casual “Ngopi Bersama” (Coffee Gathering) at a café in Palu on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The morning event, which began at 7:30 a.m. local time, was attended by representatives of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (APINDO) Central Sulawesi, the Chinese-Indonesian Social Association (PSMTI) Central Sulawesi, and the management of Bank Mandiri Region X Sulawesi & Maluku.
Chairman of APINDO Central Sulawesi, who also serves as Chairman of PSMTI Central Sulawesi, Wijaya Chandra, joined the gathering with fellow board members. From the banking side, Regional CEO of Bank Mandiri Region X Sulawesi & Maluku, Atta Alfa Wanggai, led the management team in attendance.
Several strategic issues were raised during the meeting, including responses to developments related to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), opportunities for regional development collaboration, Central Sulawesi’s business and commodity potential, as well as Bank Mandiri’s services in support of business players and the wider community.
APINDO also encouraged Bank Mandiri to initiate business-matching programs, such as business incubators and networking forums.
“We hope Bank Mandiri can play a driving role in connecting local entrepreneurs with strategic partners, including through business incubator support. This way, the region’s commodities and business opportunities can grow more optimally,” said Wijaya Chandra.
He further stressed the importance of supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in facilitating halal certification.
“Many MSMEs here produce high-quality products but still face barriers to accessing markets. With proper assistance in halal certification and capacity building, local products can more easily penetrate national and even global markets,” he added.
Responding to the input, Bank Mandiri Regional CEO Atta Alfa Wanggai reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs.
“Bank Mandiri is open to collaboration, not only in banking services but also in strengthening the business ecosystem. Forums like this are important for us to directly hear the needs of entrepreneurs and explore more concrete synergies,” he said.
The gathering was expected to serve as a productive platform for dialogue between entrepreneurs and the banking sector, paving the way for stronger cooperation and wider collaboration to drive regional economic growth.
