APINDO Central Sulawesi, Palu Tax Office, and BCA Hold CoreTAX Outreach to Promote Business Tax Compliance

Palu – The Provincial Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Central Sulawesi, in collaboration with the Palu Primary Tax Office and BCA’s Main Branch Office (KCU) in Palu, held an outreach event under the theme CoreTAX. The initiative aimed to enhance business actors’ understanding of the latest tax regulations while introducing BCA’s banking services designed to support tax efficiency and compliance.
Chairman of APINDO Central Sulawesi, Wijaya Chandra, emphasized in his opening remarks the importance of tax regulation literacy among business owners. He expressed his hope that entrepreneurs would continue to innovate and contribute productively while fulfilling their tax obligations in accordance with prevailing laws.
“My hope is that business owners can fully understand the latest tax rules and continue to contribute optimally while responsibly fulfilling their tax obligations,” said Wijaya Chandra.
He further underscored the need for a fair balance between the rights and obligations of entrepreneurs, especially in areas such as tax restitution processes, other fiscal policies, and the quality of government services. Wijaya highlighted that law enforcement, justice, road infrastructure, and public services are all tangible outcomes of the taxes paid by both individuals and businesses.
However, he also drew attention to the mounting challenges facing the business sector today. According to Wijaya, entrepreneurs are grappling with declining demand due to economic crises, unhealthy market competition, and operational costs that cannot be claimed as tax deductions. These burdens, he said, are threatening business sustainability.
He also addressed issues related to local extortion practices and the lack of a conducive security environment. In addition, he noted ongoing efforts by the business community to improve workforce quality and foster a work ethic grounded in integrity and productivity.
Wijaya voiced particular concern about the high number of national holidays and collective leave days in Indonesia—estimated to total nearly 150 days annually. He argued that this excessive number of non-working days significantly disrupts business productivity and directly impacts the effectiveness of banking services due to limited operating hours during those periods.
Through the CoreTAX outreach program, APINDO Central Sulawesi hopes to foster synergy between business actors, tax authorities, and the banking sector in building a business climate that is fair, transparent, and conducive—ultimately contributing to sustainable regional economic development.
