Ad Hoc Industrial Relations Court Judge Visits Apindo South Kalimantan, Discusses Key Issues
Wednesday, 27 August 2025
BANJARMASIN – In the settlement of industrial relations disputes, the Industrial Relations Court (PHI) appoints Ad Hoc Judges, who play a special role in resolving labor-related conflicts.
Ad Hoc Judges serve at the PHI to adjudicate cases involving labor rights disputes, interests, and employment termination (layoffs) between workers and employers.
“The presence of Ad Hoc Judges representing employers is crucial, as they can provide input to ensure fair rulings in labor cases,” said Mohammad Muniri, SH, M.Kn, an Ad Hoc Judge at the PHI, during a courtesy visit and informal dialogue with the South Kalimantan chapter of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
The meeting, held at the Apindo South Kalimantan office, was attended by Chairman Winardi Sethiono, Vice Chairman for Organization Noorhalis Majid, and Deputy Secretary Henies.
Winardi warmly welcomed Muniri’s visit, noting that his presence offered valuable insights on the importance of Ad Hoc Judges for Apindo.
“It is important for all Apindo members to understand the mechanisms of industrial relations dispute resolution, so that when facing legal cases, matters can be handled more effectively and fairly—whether through the company, the manpower office, or the court. Therefore, it would be useful to hold a socialization session for members so they can gain a better understanding of industrial relations issues,” Winardi said.
The discussion revealed that industrial relations cases remain significant in number.
“Just last year, there were more than 60 cases. This year, since many were resolved at the company level, the number has dropped to around 20,” Muniri explained.
The dialogue concluded with an agreement to organize a more formal discussion with Apindo’s board and members to deepen their understanding of industrial relations dispute resolution. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. local time, featuring Muniri and Antonius Simbolon at the Apindo South Kalimantan office.
“I hope Apindo leaders and members can attend the session to broaden their knowledge of dispute resolution in industrial relations. If necessary, we will invite Muniri to visit each local Apindo branch (DPK) across South Kalimantan to further introduce the role of Ad Hoc Judges to entrepreneurs, especially Apindo members,” Winardi added.
