Dr. Naushad Forbes, President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Mr. Adi Gordej, Former President of CII and Chairman of Gordej Group
Dear colleagues from APINDO and KADIN Indonesia,
Welcome to APINDO office. It is a great pleasure for APINDO to have you all in a lunch meeting at our office. I would like to warmly welcome Dr. Forbes and our colleagues from the CII who come all the way from India. I hope you will have a pleasant time in Indonesia and engage yourself with APINDO and KADIN's prominent business leaders who gathered in our lunch today.
APINDO has been engaging with Indian business community since a few years ago. But it is only since last year that our colleagues from the Embassy and various Indian business communities have been very active to engage with us through delegation meetings, tender or exhibitions invitations, as well as trade and investment promotions.
Indonesian business may not have much knowledge on business potential nor the know how to do business in India as how Indian business know of Indonesia. Thus, APINDO welcomes and appreciates such moves. We also eagerly disseminate the information we received from our Indian colleagues to our members to increase the exposure of Indonesian business towards India. We deem it important to maximize the use of our regional economic cooperation framework in which Indonesia and India both engaged in such as the existing ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement and the upcoming Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). I sincerely hope that the good engagement will be continued and enhanced in the future upon our meeting today.
Again, please take this opportunity to know each other, exchanges views and knowledge on business opportunities, business know how as well as exploring possibilities to collaborate together in the future. Thank you.
